About Rechnerpedia

Rechnerpedia is an independent service with calculators for pay and work in Germany, in German and English.

Who is behind it

Rechnerpedia is run by Aissa Bahamed. Full details are in the legal notice. Rechnerpedia is not a government agency, not a tax advisory firm and not connected with any public authority.

Our principles

  • Official calculation rules instead of rules of thumb. Wage tax follows the program of the Federal Ministry of Finance, contributions follow the statutory values of the year.
  • Open about limits. What we cannot calculate reliably, we do not calculate, and the calculator says so.
  • Traceable results. Every figure is broken down. Sources and tests are on the methodology page.
  • No data collection. Your inputs never leave your browser.

How the calculators are made

The calculation logic is implemented in software and automatically tested against reference values, including results of the official BMF wage tax interface. The explanatory texts were written with the help of AI software; their factual statements rely on the sources listed on the methodology page. They have not yet been reviewed by a tax adviser or payroll accountant.

Funding

Using Rechnerpedia is free. In future it may show advertising. Ads will be clearly labelled and never placed inside a calculator or its result.
